Collections: Lights Museum London

As my main theme was i lights i wanted to visit other art work that involved using light as a strong focus or work where the lights were the art work which was the majority of what i saw at the lights museum in London. It was really interesting to see the different ways light had been used to communicate.

One thing that really draws me to this work is the linear approach to the symbols and the bits that are lit are all you need to see. Its interesting how the different fonts of the lettering on each piece communicate something totally different.’Be kind to animals or I’ll kill you’ is in scrawly writing as if its been hand written and in a mellow purple and shows a more comic effect i think. Whereas ‘LIGHT THE WAY’ in all caps and stiff lettering in a hot red gives a more sinister sense reinforcing the fact its on a petrol can.
